The value of low tech
We live in a high-tech world so when we think of technology we often think of tablets, voice activation devices and smartphones. But when it comes to technology there’s both low tech and high tech.
Low tech (or simple technology) is all around us and we use it every day. It’s the pencil or pen we pick up to write a list, the paintbrush we use when feeling creative and it’s the knife and fork used for a family dinner. The importance of low tech should never be downplayed — after all, where would we be without, say, the wheel!
Low tech has an important place in STEAM education and Makedo is the perfect low tech tool for every learning or maker space.
Educators are enthusiastic about Makedo tools because they are hands-on, inexpensive, reusable, simple to use and only require one thing – cardboard!
You don’t need to do a course on 3D printing, coding, robotics or augmented reality to get started with Makedo. Compared with some high tech resources, Makedo's tools are easy for educators and parents to support the fun and learning of making.
Most importantly, low tech is high fun. So, if you’re looking for a much-needed break from digital education or online learning try getting low tech and grab some Makedo.
