Highlighting the Makedo Process
Find … materials. Makedo allows the making of something new from upcycled cardboard. Is a readily available, free and unlimited building block that can be recycled and reused. You can easily un-make a creation, re-make it or make something entirely new, all with the same bits of cardboard.
Make … constructions. Makedo tools are designed to work together to CUT SAFELY, CONNECT EASILY, and MAKE ANYTHING with cardboard. Makedo is open-ended because it facilitates the making of anything imaginable!
Play … & imagine. The Makedo experience sparks and develops imagination because with Makedo, ordinary cardboard becomes that imagined thing. Then Makedo constructions can be used for play, where the maker is protagonist in a hack-able world of their own creation; once you’ve made your rocketship you can fly to the moon.
Learn … the design process. The Makedo experience celebrates the process of wondering, imagining, creating, discovering, experimenting, failing, thinking and solving. The emphasis is on process rather than outcome. Makedo enables hands-on learning that fosters the design, construction and problem solving to meet curriculum objectives.
Inspire … the Makedo community. Share ideas and seek inspiration from other students and educators by joining the Makedo global community.
